I’m thrilled to invite you to the highly anticipated launch of Louisa, my debut historical novel – an event you won’t want to miss! Join me for a vibrant celebration filled with engaging conversation, wonderful company, and a chance to immerse yourself in the story behind the pages.
I’m in conversation with SUZANNE LEAL, award-winning author of six novels. Suzanne is the perfect fit, as her new novel, The Year We Escaped, won the 2025 ARA Historical Novel Prize. Suzanne is the founder of Thursday Book Club, a relaxed book club connecting readers online. Read more at www.suzanneleal.com
Join us for an unforgettable event at Links Seaside by Warrigal, 1 Ross Street, Wollongong, NSW – a stunning venue right in the heart of the Illawarra coast!
Have you seen the invitation design? It’s absolutely eye-catching! Huge thanks to the creative marketing team at Warrigal, the driving force behind the Links Seaside village, for making it pop. Best of all, your entry is completely free! Don’t miss out—secure your spot now by following the simple steps on your invitation, or jump straight onto Eventbrite to reserve your seat: Eventbrite Launch of Louisa by Gwen Wilson Tickets

If you are coming by train from Sydney, the 11.23 from Central ‘Kiama via Wolli Creek‘ service will get you here in time to have a light lunch in our bar, or the 12.23 before the first speaker. Sit on the left for views of our stunning coastline. Alight at Wollongong for a short Taxi or Uber ride to Links Seaside. If driving, there is underground secure parking and/or availability in various surrounding streets.
NOTE: Please let me know if you are coming for lunch, and I will give numbers to the kitchen in advance. It will be something light served in the bar area, as my event will take up all the restaurant space.
I look forward to welcoming you to our “home”.
That would be wonderful Gwen!

I would have preferred a weekend, Kerri – but it is Warrigal’s dime, so they needed a weekday.
If you hear of an opportunity in Sydney please let me know. I checked out Gleebooks in Glebe but it is too rich for me 🙂 xxx Gwen

It’s a pity I can’t attend but I do hope the launch is really successful. It looks like it will be a delightful afternoon. I also took a look at Suzanne’s bookclub – that was fun and I will definitely join in with that again. Will you be filming snippets to share here or on youtube?

I’m sure you’ll be there in spirit, Amanda. I hadn’t thought about filming. Let’s see what happens on the day. And I’ve let Suzanne know that you checked out her bookclub. I should do so myself! xxx Gwen

Thank you so much, Marion. Maybe one day I’ll do an author’s talk “somewhere” in England.
