The Journey of Louisa: From Manuscript to Published Novel

I’m so enjoying the reminders from WordPress about what I wrote “on this day” years back, that I am in danger of reblogging them all. The saving grace with this one is that it is vaguely book related. In fact, the manuscript on which I was working ultimately transformed into Louisa, which has just been launched. I remember some of the passages I wrote on that retreat, and most of them made it into the final version. Although the book itself ultimately split in two. What was originally to be Louisa’s Legacy was renamed. For the very sensible reason that we don’t actually get to the “legacy” part in this book. But watch out for the follow up, Florence & Lucy – if that ever gets finished!

The post was written in Classic WordPress. I can’t be bothered converting it to Blocks, so either all the links have expired, or they can no longer be read by the software.

Anyway, for those who are interested, you will find information on the yellow-tailed black cockatoo here: Yellow-tailed black cockatoo fact sheet

Enjoy! Garrulous Gwendoline

  1. It is interesting that the book title and content evolved as you progressed through writing it, Gwen. I belive this can happen quite often.
Re WordPress rewind – I have likewise found some posts from past years that are still relevant and quite informative. So I now appreciate this feature from WordPress.
